SEANCE
Sage, Clove, Frankincense, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang & Sandalwood

NOT TO BE USED BY WOMEN WHO ARE PREGNANT OR NURSING OR BY THOSE WITH VERY SENSITIVE SKIN DUE TO USE OF SPICE OILS. SPICE OILS MAY CAUSE SENSITIVITY IN SOME INDIVIDUALS.  TEST A SMALL AREA OF YOUR SKIN BEFORE APPLYING ALL OVER IF YOU ARE VERY SENSITIVE TO SPICE OILS.

BAR SOAP CAUTION ONLY: Epileptics and those prone to seizures are advised to avoid sage essential oil.  The bar soap contains a little dalmation sage essential oil but the perfume does not.

Offered in Perfume and Occasionally Bar Soap as part of our rotating General Catalog

PERFUME Description: The fragrance of our popular bar soap is now available as a perfume!  Seance is a haunting blend of sage, clove, frankincense, ylang ylang, patchouli essential oils and a dash of sandalwood to awaken the spirit. It smells primarily of spicy clove and sage followed by a bit exotic and astringent frankincense oil. It has a deep, herbaceous, woody, spicy, earthy and musky fragrance.  The ylang ylang contributes a very subtle sweet/light floral note and the patchouli is grounding, contributing to the overall fullness of the Seance fragrance rather than standing apart as a dominant note like the sage, clove and frankincense do.  Contains both fragrance and essential oils.  Unisex.

What a great soap this is! I'm a huge fan of Angela's bar soaps... they're always scented so well, very moisturizing for the skin and are beautiful to look at.

This soap is perfect for the fall. It's two sided, one is a very dark color, almost black while the other is an orange... very Halloweenish!

The scent is woody, resinous and herbal.. with a great mixture of clove, and frankincense and as is noted in the description, the sage, patchouli and sandalwood really make this scent so much more than just a clove soap. The scent fills the bathroom, lingers a bit on your skin and really makes for a wonderful shower experience. This is my SO's favorite bar soap from Solstice Scents. Highly recommended!

If you love Astral Temple or Travelers like I do, you'll love this soap. The later is very rich when used with a pouf and the lingering scent is dark, yet soft, and redolent of cloves. Very nice.

I agree with the above review. If you like Astral temple, this one is for you. Herbal, resinous, spicy, smoky. A very magical scent.

I enjoy getting this scent in soap during autumn. I has an amazing throw. I take a bath before bed and when I lay down I can smell this on my skin. I am sure it envokes magical dreams, because the scent it's self is truly that, magical.

Oh this scent right here is amazing! I just received it today in the perfume oil that was newly offered, and this is heavenly. When I first put it on, it was spicy for sure. I wasn't quite sure if it was too spicy. But once it started to warm on my skin, within minutes, it turned to such a warm and delicious scent. This is everything I imagined it would be! If you want to turn down the notch on the spiciness, I would recommend mixing it with something slightly sweeter, maybe something with vanilla. But I love it how it is. This has become a new favorite! It went a little feminine on my skin, but hey that's just me. Skin chemistry is different for everyone.

I liked the soap and ended up picking up the perfume in a trade, so I thought I'd review that, too. With the soap, the fragrance is obviously temporary, but when you apply the perfume, you get a little more time to figure it out. This still kind of reminds me of Travelers with the clove and frank, but this is a lot darker to me (maybe from the patch?) The Ylang Ylang gives it a bit of a sweetness, but overall it's on the darker end of the spectrum.

This is a very dry, slightly bitter, herbal-spicy scent on my skin. It smells like lots of dried sage used in cooking, a bitter clove, and a hint of dry earthiness that's reminiscent of crunchy fall leaves. I keep thinking that I smell a sharp black pepper as well, and then something like a sharp lemon pepper in the drydown. scratch
Mostly this is savory cooking herbs and spices on me, and it doesn't have enough sweetness and is a little too dry and sharp for my tastes. Tons of strong, dried sage.

Sage and clove: oh yes indeed, that is those two notes for sure. I don’t think I’ve smelled them together in a fragrance before, and it turns out it’s a very interesting and refreshing mix. It’s almost like eucalyptus or mint at first, a Tiger Balm/VapoRub smell (which I like, so that’s okay). Then it settles down from that initial herbal blast and becomes more clove-centric, and you can tell there’s patchouli and ylang-ylang under there. So far I don’t get much frankincense, but I’ll keep sniffing. It’s so fresh and bracing; mind-clearing, you might say (perhaps in preparation for a seance?), and makes me feel contentedly clean. Also reminds me a tiny bit of a juniper tree. I could see myself wanting to wear it more!
