Join the funny "thread" Has anyone experienced any Holiday mishaps?

Hi all,
Holiday mishaps are already happening!

Daisy, the Great Pyrenees, who was rescued last Summer at age 3, has now successfully tackled my 1950's antique silver Christmas tree, adorned with all the 1940's and 1950's ornaments. Hmmmmmm.

Last Sunday, after Church services, I was leisurely cruising back home, and took a side-swipe look to my front picture window, and alas! No tree!

Parked the SuV, ran into the house, and proceeded to sadly gather my little treasures from garage sales, tag sales, estate sales, etc. up from the carpet. Some escaped injury, others did not. Gahhhhh!

Yesterday, Daisy Doodlebug, pulled the same prank. So, essentially, I have decorated this blame, dang tree a total of 3 times. Two times too many!

Last night, I ordered an extra high baby gate to contain Miss Daisy to the Family Room, which does NOT HAVE A TREE.

How incredibly frustrating!

In the late 50s, my husband's aunt made some incredibly inricate ornaments with fabric and beads. Last year I caught my then four year olds removing the pins and sticking the beads down the vent. They ruined at least 15 of these heirlooms.

It's a good thing they're cute.

Two years ago, there was a Christmas blizzard in the Midwest and MrAnglican and I were driving from my folks' house to my MIL's. She lives about an hour and a half away in the city. To get to her parking spaces, you drive uphill and through a narrow alley. Well, we got stuck. I was about ready to cry at that point because what should have been a short trip had taken twice as long because of the ice and snow coming down. We had to find some way to move the car so no one would crash into it in the alley, but how? Any amount of pushing and driving between the three of us (and my MIL is a little tiny woman) didn't work.

Finally, my MIL remembered that there was an AA meeting in the church next door - and that they still met on Christmas. So four really burly guys came out and pushed our car out of the snow and out of the alley, and I'd never been so thankful to four random strangers in my life.
