CHIFFON
Vanilla, White Amber, White Musk & Lemon Myrtle EO

DO NOT APPLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER A HOT SHOWER OR NEAR CUTS OR BROKEN SKIN AS LIKE LEMON JUICE, LEMON MYRTLE MAY STING!

Offered as a Perfume and Burnishing Glace in the Spring Collection

Description: Chiffon is a dual concept fragrance that brings together the airy, sweet and refreshingly tart taste of Lemon Chiffon pie and the elegant, wispy and equally airy beauty of chiffon fabric.  A very special top-shelf, perfectly sweet and non-cloying vanilla (one of the vanillas in Nightgown) provides a base for a delicate touch of white amber and white musk.  Chiffon is completed with the bright and uplifting scent of pure lemon myrtle essential oil.  The lemon myrtle is one of the dominant notes on cold sniff and initial application.  It will recede within 5 to 10 minutes and allow the other notes to emerge.  Unlike most lemon essential oil top notes that disappear fairly quickly, lemon myrtle EO has a strong lemon-like scent but also a very good staying power.  Lemon Myrtle is distilled from the leaves of a native Australian Tree.  As it fades and takes a back seat to the other notes a wonderful, sweet, ethereal and beautiful long-lasting scent is left behind.   The longer Chiffon is on the skin, the sweeter it gets.  The vanilla is the longest lasting note of the blend and takes on a glorious whipped cream and an almost marshmallow note the longer it is on the skin.  A really lovely and sophisticated scent!  Fans of some of our other scents like Nightgown, Snowshoe Pass and Manor should really enjoy Chiffon.

While Chiffon is overall a scent that smells light and airy like clouds, it also is pretty strong and seems to grow stronger the longer it is on the skin so apply a modest amount on your first try and let it sit for about 45 minutes to gauge how much you will need for future applications.

To me, Chiffon smells almost exactly like Angela's description. It's an extremely well-blended lemony vanilla cream that fades into straight vanilla with a whipped cream/marshmallow note. People that love gourmand scents will love this, I think - it's not overly foody but it smells delicious. I tend not to be a gourmand scent person, but I've worn this two days in a row and I'm debating buying a full size because it smells so good!

Also, like many of Angela's scents, Chiffon lasts all day on my skin - still going strong after 8 hours of a long hot day.

This and Chantilly Cream have been on my list. It has been a tough month for funds, but I am looking forward to Friday so I can get some of these lovelies!

Very soft and gauzy! Lemon can sometimes be sharp and sour on my skin, but this is beautiful. Glad I got a bottle.

Edited for update: The drydown is where this really shines for me. The lemon balances so beautifully with the whiteness of the cream/amber/musk. Although this scent would be perfectly at home at a garden party where the women wear hats and gloves, it is not fussy and would be appropriate anywhere. I will be wearing this quite a bit this spring and summer.

I liked this when I first put it on, but something in there was going a little plasticy. About 45 minutes in, all of a sudden it went into this lovely smooshy ambered vanilla with the lemon holding it all together. Yummmmm and lovely!

Manor, Snowshoe Pass and Nightgown are my top 3 favorite Solstice Scents blends, so I was all over this one after reading the description. Unfortunately, the lemon is a bit too much for me. I'm used to blends being too light on the lemon, but this goes on smelling exactly like lemon pledge and stays that way for a good hour before the vanilla notes start to come in. Very strong, tart and intense lemon. It actually feels like it sticks in my throat and makes my throat burn a bit. I can see the comparison to Nightgown's cool, creamy, marshmallow-y sort of vanilla after an hour, but it takes a bit too long to get to that stage for me. Plus, once it hits the mostly vanilla stage, the scent disappears pretty quickly on my skin. Only lasts about an hour and a half total. Sad

Very nice light, lemon and vanilla blend. I actually enjoy the tartness in the beginning (would love to have a scent that retained that verbena bite to it). The drydown is a really nice, soft scent that is particularly appropriate for summer. I wear it several times a week.

THE BEST!!!!!! this lemon is soft and creamy, this is blended so well. I can't stand lemon, but this one has converted me. I have already went thru a whole perfume, waiting on my second to arrive. I'm trying to buy 2 more before they sale out. I hope this is offered in a whipped soap & glace next time around.

I love lemony scents (Fresh Lemon Sugar was a favorite of mine) so I had to try this, even though the mention of white amber/white musk scared me off initially (I really really dislike musk, esp. white musk) But I'm glad I tried it because I really like this, and will probably end up buying a bottle.

It's just as it is described: a lovely chiffon lemon pie sort of scent! Sweet lemon that is wonderfully tart, too, and balanced by the creamy vanilla. After some of the lemon fades, I still have a creamy gourmand scent that is lovely to wear. It doesn't last that long on me, but long enough that I can enjoy it. Really a lovely scent!

Oh how I love Chiffon! Angela sent me sample of it in my first SS order back in July of last year and by the time I got around to ordering again it was all gone for the year. I have (sort of) patiently waited for it to reappear. This perfume reminds me of the day my parents brought my brand new baby sister home from the hospital. There was this children's show that I liked called Strawberry Shortcake and one of Shortcake's pals was named Lemon Meringue. My dad bought dolls for my sister and I (I think it was a new big sister bribe) and they were scented. Chiffon kind of reminds me of the way my baby sister's Lemon Meringue doll smelled, though of course it's even better. Sweet creamy vanilla and an almost marshmallowy drydown with just enough lemon to keep it bright and prevent it from being cloying. A co-worker followed me around taking deep lungfuls, wondering "What is that? It smells SO good!" Plus, everytime I put it on I think about my awesome baby sis and smile. Let's hear it for scent memories!

I got the last glace listed on the site and it was on sale.  I immediately loved it.  I really hope it is offered again in the spring.  It's a hard one to describe, but it's just pretty.  Not very foodie in my opinion, but just lovely and a beautiful background scent in the glace.

Ok- it's months later and this is back in stock, so I was able to get the perfume. Just wanted to attempt to review it again. I do not get foodie vanilla, marshmallow from this blend AT ALL. It reminds me more of a lemony summer cocktail or lemon trees. I love the musk in it. It gives the girly of a lemon a grown up feel.

In the vial, it smells like a warm lemon bar. YUM. See, I keep Extra Dessert Delights Lemon Bar gum in my bag because it smells SO GOOD (if you like lemon bars)(PSA: the flavor doesn't last at all)(for flavor, the Fiber One 90cal Lemon Bars do the trick), so I'm excited to have something that will smell just as delicious as gum. I'm on a search for a good lemon dessert perfume, which sounds like the happiest summer fragrance ever. But wet on my skin, I smell PlayDoh and something like strong lemon sanitizer, and the scent actually has a bit of throw to it at this point. WHY, SKIN, WHY. I do not want an unbaked cake and I do not want a PlayDoh cake! As it dries on my skin I keep hoping for something to save this scent. At the 20 min mark, the lemon does seem to be slightly more dessert-like again, but I'm not sure how I feel about Realistically Scented Playdoh. It stays distinctly Lemon-Scented PlayDoh for at least 2 or so hours, then at some point it turns into powdery vanilla dough that I can only smell directly on my skin. I doubted the citrus would return (I wouldn't want it to), so I washed it off after that. I had such high hopes for this when it was in the bottle!

Chiffon smells like lemon meringue pie. It’s a soft lemon, not at all Pledge-y. It’s sweet, but not overly so – it’s not sickening or cloying. After a while I do get hints of the white amber/white musk combo (which I'm not too fond of), but it’s not overpowering and it doesn’t ruin it for me the way it ruined Snowshoe Pass. From first application to dry-down, Chiffon is just a soft, sweet lemon.

Chiffon smells like lemon powdered sugar, but at the same time it's almost more creamy than powdery. It's definitely a softer and sweeter lemon than Lemon Ginger Creams. I can see the comparison to both lemon chiffon pie and chiffon fabric. It's light and sweet, and very pretty. It's definitely something I could see someone wearing to a fancy tea party.

Gorgeous. This is my favorite year-round scent! It's fresh and lemony, and I get why it's a spring scent, but I just never feel like it's out of season! Very lite and almost ethereal, the lemon is the predominant note but it's tempered by the vanilla, amber, and musk. I don't know what the difference is between amber and white amber, but this is never powdery like traditional amber is on me. Somehow I never lose the lemon completely, and this scent lasts all day, though it does fade considerably after a few hours. Easily one of my top five!

Chiffon was love at first sniff for me.  It starts off very lemony, but not like Pledge...like those wonderful wet-naps that I collected from restaurants as kid.  I would stuff them in my pocket and take them home and carefully unwrap it, set it out to dry overnight, and then put them in my drawers so my clothes would smell like lemon.  I loved that scent!  After a while, the sweeter notes come out and tone the lemon down, but the lemon sticks around!  It is so fresh and cool smelling, a perfect hot weather scent since it's not cloying but yet soft and fluffy.  As it dries down, it is the exact smell of my little one-year-old niece's head (you know, that dreamy "baby smell"?--but not baby powder). The last time I held my niece, I thought to myself "If I could bottle the smell (of her hair) I would buy it!".  And here it is.  I will definitely be buying a full sized spray of this when it is restocked.  I LOVE IT.
