Description:

Moroccan spices, sandalwood, hot baked Earth, myrrh resin, precious saffron threads and a touch of oud meld together to create a dry, woody, resinous, spicy and extremely exotic scent representing the blisteringly hot desert, spice caravans and never ending sun scorched sand. The woods and spices on cold sniff and initial application quickly turn dry and resinous as the myrrh and saffron boldly emerge. A hot Mediterranean wind stirs desert sands, fusing with the incense wood notes. Sirocco combines sandalwood essential oil and fragrance with a real baked Earth Indian attar, myrrh and saffron essential oils and a medley of spices. Sirocco does lean a bit masculine but it is a very unique fragrance that Women would love to journey with as well. The full experience is recommended with the perfume and Burnishing Glaces where the dry resin, saffron, sand and woods are able to warm on your skin and evolve. The Sugared Amber Scrub is a little bolder with the spice and woods notes but is equally enjoyable.

I really like this scent. It is quite heavy, and has a deep smokiness to it. It is dark and mysterious per the description. IT has a bit of incensy scent to it which I love.

Dry, hot, masculine. The guys have been very patient over the past couple of updates, and here is their reward! (Although this can definitely be worn by women.) There's a wood note that reminds me of Outpost minus the sugar and evergreens, but it definitely evokes sand and heat. Wonderful!

I am really loving this scent. It has a hint of spicyness with a smokey, almost damp, woody incense smell. It is so hard to explain, but I love it! It is also a little sweet on me, which reminds me a little of Witches Cottage. I would love to see this one in the general catalog.

This along with Tenebrous Mist are my full adores from this summer's release, so of course I had to come and do a review.

On cold sniff, I get a lot of sandalwood and cedar.

However, once on the skin, this is absolutely fabulous. On me, it is very dry. Bone and desert dry. The sandalwood is dry, the spices are dry, even the myrrh and saffron are dry. And what this combines into is an amazing essence of the heat of Aladdin's dreams. When I close my eyes, I see only the hues only a desert can bring--the creamy tan of the sand, the gold of a million treasures lurking under the surface, the hazy shimmer of the relentless heat creating mirages in the distance, and the faint faint tinge of pink coating the landscape as the sun sets.

But don't let the dryness stop you from trying it. And don't be intimidated by the heat--and this one definitely has heat. When I breathe it in, it almost feels like the heat from Death Valley is blowing across my lungs. This scent is sexy. It feels exotic, mysterious, and almost haunting in its depth. It is, in a word, stunning.

I normally don't go for such dry scents. I like my woods to be a bit more rounded, softer, cozy. But this scent is compelling in its strength--maybe because it hints at so much more. As it dries down, it does soften some, and I begin to get the dampness Thorton mentions, however to me it's more of the dampness of the change from a hot hot day to the cool of night, and not a dampness in the resins or woods themselves.

It really is the perfect desert scent, and I am so glad I got a sample so I could discover this one.

This scent is a real winner for me! I think it's my favorite of the new summer scents this year. It's very unisex with a deep woodsy, earthy smell. I think I need to order some full size products in this. Bought a sugar scrub, but would like this in a leave on product!

I am really enraptured with this fragrance. It's my pick for the summer 2012 collection and is really becoming one of my favorite scents out of my vast solstice scents perfume collection.

On my skin a lot of the fragrant, warm, deep, creamy notes of the sandalwood and oud stand out and I love that. It is extremely long lasting, I can still smell it on my skin the next day and it's exquisite!

I can smell dryness and almost a gingerbread spice in here. I have the glace mist in this scent. It reminds me of "Silk Road" type of scents. Lovely perfume, high on resins and spice and the glace lasts for hours on my skin, it leaves that gingerbread spell behind, along with a trail of sandalwood and myrrh. It's warm and bright to me. I can pick out the oud as well, I am a real oud fan.

If you like perfumes from Nocturne Alchemy, this is along those lines, invoking the exoticness and mystery of the desert.

I think this works on women, it's more an unisex scent in my eyes then anything else. It reminds me of sandstone for some reason too!

I would completely agree with Fascinoma's review. Definitely a dry and gingerbready smell. I was really caught off guard by this fragrance. It doesn't strike me as a summer fragrance by any means. But the deepness and dryness of this fragrance really do bring to mind visions of hot, dry days!

I am a huge fan of dark, resinous, and smokey fragrances, so obviously this was am immediate hit for me. And for some reason Sirocco has a bit of a sweetness to it that it hard to describe.

This is definitely in my top three favorite perfumes from Solstice. I NEED MORE...in perfume, glace, body butter and whipped soap! Please Angela, make my dreams come true...lol!

I find this scent fascinating, because it somehow does really manage to smell like clay and 'hot baked earth.' I grew up in an area with lots of red clay and that's what Sirocco always reminds me of. Rich, earthy red clay mixed with some sultry resins, dry wood, and warm, sensual spices. A very dry, exotic, primal sort of scent for me. I love it <3

Sirocco pulls quite masculine and spicy on my skin. It's not sweet or woodsy on me at all, just very musky and dry. The description is accurate- Sirocco invokes a desert aesthetic, it seems quite warm and red. This scent is attractive but too strong for me personally, I'd rather smell it on someone I was interested in. I think Sirocco is a strong and confident scent that would best be worn in small, subtle amounts.

Sirocco is an amazing fragrance that strikes me as an absolute "classic" of it's genre in that it clearly has a classism in the choice of notes that elate to many men's high end fragrances of the 1980s. It is a rich, warm saffron-wood with a vein of resin. I think the spice notes provide the dry clay note that some reviewers and I certainly understand the 'desert' metaphors and images that many reviewers write about. I certainly too understand that some reviewers consider it masculine due to the rich woods that dominate, however the underlying sweetness also would make it interesting to many women. I do not detect any bitterness that often accompanies saffron, however that may be hidden by other ingredients. In the dry-down the myrrh is detectable and adds a delightful level of interest. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't find it too strong by any means and apply it liberally according to my mood. Despite the apparent 'warmth' of Sirocco, it works well on hot dry nights. The premium quality of ingredients shine through and are well worth the cost. Wonderful.
