WREN
Essential Oils of Petitgrain, African Bluegrass, Michelia Alba, Ylang Ylang Extra, Sandalwood & Virginia Cedarwood

Not to be used by women who are pregnant or nursing

Available in the Spring 2012 Collection in Bath Salts only

Description: Wren is made with essential oils of petitgrain, African bluegrass, michelia alba, ylang ylang extra and a small touch of sandalwood and Virginia cedarwood. 100% pure essential oil blend. The fragrance is primarily tart, citrusy, herbaceous and slightly woodsy petitgrain. Petitgrain oil is extracted from the leaves or branches of the orange tree but smells quite different from orange or neroli essential oil. It has a bright and uplifting aroma and if it were a color, it would be the color of a Wren. Petitgrain is indicated for stress related conditions and insomnia. The other essential oils in the blend are mild and add depth. African bluegrass has an amazing grassy scent, michelia alba is a tangy floral with a green note. Topped with shredded aspen and moss.

Wren is my husband's favorite of the spring salts. He loves woodsy scents and said that this smells like a meadow next to a forest. I think that it smells like a mix of sweet wildflowers (I thought sugared lavender, but I see there's no lavender listed), meadow grass, and hints of wood and trees. It's a very relaxing, natural fragrance, and it's much smoother than I was expecting. I was a little scared when I first smelled these in the jar, because Wren has an aggressive, sharp, almost smoky, sour citrus tone to it, but the fragrance really sweetens and mellows in the water.
Very strong. I only used about 1/6 of the jar and had tons of fragrance (and our bath tub is a huge, two person soaker tub).

I loved the Wren salts last year and am planning to stock up this year, assuming they reappear! I don't think that the blend has a lot in common with other SS scents - it's kind of bright and meadowy, if that makes any sense. I thought it might smell like cut grass, but it doesn't. Nor was it especially "floral" to my nose. I like the petitgrain in it.

If you like petitgrain you will like these salts, this is the predominant note I detect. It is a grassy, woody scent.

This was very deep, woody, and masculine. It was like taking a bath in a spring deep in the forest. This is not a girlie soak, so guys who like baths will definitely enjoy this.
