| MASTER BEDROOM Soft Musk, Sandalwood EO, Amber, Clove EO, Myrrh EO, Vanilla, Aged Patchouli EO, Champaca Absolute & Aged Sandalwood AttarOffered as a Perfume oil as part of the Manor Collection: Autumn 2012.Shake gently before each use. The Master Bedroom is furnished with a luxurious canopied bed featuring a red damask spread with black velvet flocking, ornate mahogany furniture, ivory lace curtains and exquisite needlepoint wall hangings. The room has a delicate, sensual, sweet, spicy and musky scent. Notes of soft musk, sandalwood EO, amber, candied clove, dry myrrh EO, aged patchouli EO and precious champaca absolute combine with an amazing sandalwood attar that has been aged for 3 years. The aged sandalwood is beautiful and creamy with a slight anise-like spice. On initial application, the clove is the first note to emerge but very soon after the delicate musk, exotic champaca, airy vanilla, rich patchouli and woods quickly follow. The resulting scent is warm, sweet and exotic. The patchouli is carefully added so that Master Bedroom is not a heavy scent. The clove dries down to lend spice without dominating the other notes. This has a gentle long-term dry down scent with good tenacity and sensual yet sophisticated character.

| This goes very powdery/creamy on me (the musk and sandalwoods, I think), which makes it smell girly to me. It makes me think of baby powder and creamy lotions, sort of clean and delicate smelling. But underneath that there's a hint of spicy clove and hints of dark amber and patchouli. For a Master Bedroom it conjures up images of dark, carved wood bed posts and huge, fluffy down pillows and blankets. After about 15 minutes, it's tons of powder and a hint of clove on me... then it just conjures up images of baby powder and baby rooms, lol.
Very strong and lasting, but unfortunately turns too powdery on my skin.

| This one is the only scent I'm not sure of and am the most surprised about. I'll admit I've worn this the least of out of all of them, so I may end up liking it much more than I do now. The notes listed made me think this one was going to be my favorite out of them all, but for some reason, I think the champaca flowers are not agreeing with my nose because they tend to overpower the scent completely for me. This one I'm going to have to try again because right now it seems a bit too flowery for me, which gives it a feminine feel to it.

| Perfume: This one has a lot of notes in it that I like so I wanted to give it a try. I was a little hesitant just because of the Vanilla and the Clove. (for some reason my body chemistry will amp up Clove to a sickening degree) The Clove element is definitely the front runner on me but it is toned down with the vanilla and sandalwood. It's weird but this one reminds me of an old school carbonated fountain soda. Not quite sure how I feel about this one. It's not bad but I'm not sure it's for me. | |

| This is a new fragrance for me and I love it. It is filled with notes that I adore. It is soft, creamy, sweet, incense/resinous, and swirled with a soft musk. It is sexy without being heavy which I like. Heavy blends tend to be headache envoking for me. This is a great fragrance to be captured for Bedroom. It is sexy and soft. I love it! | |

| The opening in this reminds me of Cascade of Gold. It shares the same beautiful, silky smooth sandalwood (at least to my nose it does), and just gives off the illusion of opulence and oozing sensuality (hey, whatever you want to get up to in the Master Bedroom is up to you ). The vanilla doesn't dominate, and is quite soft after a few minutes warming on the skin, but it is noticeable enough for me to be able to smell its presence. The clove on my skin is very fleeting and only stays for mere moments, which is a shame, but my skin is amping up the amber (it has a tendency to be silly when it comes to ambers ) It definitely begins to wear more spicier as it spends more time warming on the skin, and the musks are still as smooth as ever throughout the whole time it's on my skin. and I find sillage to be quite moderate. | |

| This is the olfactory equivalent of a four poster bed with heavy crimson damask curtains that may be a little dusty because they are too damn heavy to take off and clean very often. It's powdery, clovey, and evokes a feeling of high baroque. | |

| This scent has me both baffled and disappointed. I have been in contact with Angela a number of times about this fragrance and feel (both of us) that I should share my experiences as they are so different to my other experiences of other Solstice Scents reviews. My comments are always honest and reflect my thoughts and feelings. This review is no exception.
Looking at the list of ingredients, I thought this would be something I would enjoy. Amber, cloves, vanilla, sandalwood and a little Champaca; what there isn't to like?
My first try I smelled a little sweetness and musk and thirty seconds later, nothing. I applied it a little more heavily and still next to nothing was there. Thinking that was odd, I put the fragrance aside to try later during the week "my nose must be tired" I thought.
A week later I tried it again and had the same result. "perhaps it's the weather" I thought and I waited until it was cooler. Still nothing. I contacted Angela, who tested that batch and confirmed it was its usual strength. She even commented to me how long lasting she sometimes finds it.
To quote Alice "Curiouser and curiouser". Am I anosmic to the particular musk used????. Normally I have no difficulties in detecting musks at all, but it is a possibility.
I waited a few more months until the weather was becoming cold and tried again. This time I also detected the clove (which is a note I love) and with that success, was able to follow that note down deeper till I could detect the floral, vanilla and amber. So finally with the 'door opened' I was able to register all the notes. It turns out that I don't particularly like Master Bedroom! I understand the opulence, richness and tonality of the fragrance, but find it too feminine.
I agree with Rob's sentiments on this one. Not for me. That has surprised the hell out of me because normally I find Angela's comments flawlessly accurate. This one to me is not unisex at all.
