| TRAVELERSA Blend of Amber, Clove & FrankincenseOffered as part of the General Catalog in Perfume. Occasionally offered in Bar Soap. This scent has been discontinued due to a component no longer being available
Description: A cloaked and bearded man wanders the globe with his walking staff and Cartographer's maps. His pouches contain exotic spices, herbs, stones and other various curiosities he has acquired during his travels. In a red velvet pouch, he keeps his most prized treasures: clove buds acquired in Indonesia, Frankincense resin traded to him by an introverted widow on the Northern Coast of Somalia and precious amber tears he found on his travels to the Baltic Sea. He keeps his pouch hidden on the inside of his cloak, but he always smells faintly of these precious spices and resins. Travelers perfume is an exotic blend of clove and frankincense essential oil, mingled with a sweet, warm and enticing golden amber. A very Old World blend, this fragrance is an excellent unisex indulgence and a very unique signature scent. It's a little smoky, spicy, resinous and sweet.

| I absolute adore this spicy, autumn scent. I must have a bottle - mmmmmmmmmm...... everything is in there to make it a cool-weather joy to wear. When you mix clove and amber, you have won my heart. | |

| This. THISSSSS. I am in love with this scent. I wear the perfume on a daily basis and I savor it in glycerin soap form until there's nothing but a sliver left of it! My love for it is...well...from an odd origin. I partake in a lot of Medieval reinactment through an organization called the SCA, They have one large event every year, called Pennsic. It lasts for two weeks and involves running around in the forests at night, dancing around bonfires with mead and drums, then adventuring through the marketplaces and encampments by day... When I'm not at this event, I literally feel homesick. Ironically enough, the smell of Traveler's really takes me back to it. It reminds me of everything I love about this silly little hobby. It really does make me think of the description for her inspiration. If you long for the calm evenings of Summer and Autumn, relaxing around a fire with friends in the middle of nature...this one will certainly appeal to you. | |

| Ah, what a great scent! Sweet, spicy and resinous... Traveler's is a great scent for cooler weather, but I tend to wear it regardless of the temperature or season. The bar soap has the same scent and leaves your skin soft and mildly perfumed.
Yet another great scent from Angela... the notes all fit together to make a very unique and lovely blend!

| I happen to be Jewish and this scent reminds me so much of the Havdalah ritual in Judaism. For those who don't know about it, at the conclusion of the Sabbath it is traditional for us to say goodbye to the day of rest by smelling spices, including cloves! This scent brings me back to my home and my childhood and I always have a smile on my face when I wear it. I also love that this scent isn't explicitly intended for any particular gender. Simply beautiful and long-lasting. | |

| My hubby complains that this is too strong and overwhelming for him sometimes, but I adore it and wear it when he's at work. I love amber, clove, and frankincense, and can smell all three in this blend rather equally. The amber and frankincense are warm and deeply resinous, and the clove is darkly spicy and perfectly sweet. It smells exotic and dark, but also very comforting and warm to me. I love it, especially as we're moving into the colder weather of fall and winter <3. | |

| I first tried this in warm weather and didn't care for it. I tried it again a few weeks ago and it was like a light bulb went on (Christmas light bulb, that is.) This is lovely for the holidays.
It's like Astral Temple without the orange note.

| The reformulated version was out, and the description and notes sounded wonderful! I love frankincense, and the spiciness of clove and muskiness of amber sounded like a perfect mix. However, the clove in this blend is overpowering--I can't make out any of the other notes, even after several hours. After I applied it, my husband walked in and wondered out loud what smelled like the disinfectant used in urinals. I put this away in a drawer, and decided to wait a few days to try it again.
I tried it tonight, and still the same--overpowering cloves. No frankincense or amber on me. I'm not sure how the original smelled, but this is not for me. Unfortunately, I got a full bottle, as I didn't see this one available as a sample. Maybe I can find something to layer it with.
On a different note, I loved the idea of clove, frankincense, and amber so much, I mixed up a batch myself (I have several essential oils and do my own perfumes on occasion). I used only one drop of clove, going heavier on the amber and frankincense, and the mix came out lovely…my experience with essential oils is that the spicy ones (cinnamon, clove, ginger…etc), need only 1 drop to be effective, and to prevent skin irritation...

| This review is of the recently released fragrance 2013 winter version of Traveler.
The camphorous, medicinal clove tied with a sharp resinous frankincense are really a wonderful duo, somewhat reminiscent of the notes used in Heeley's Esprit du Tigre. Both would have been evocative of the Spice Trail and the 'mysterious' Far East to occidental audiences of centuries past. The name "Traveler" perfectly sums what must have appeared an exciting exotic and foreign world. For the Heeley fragrance, I find the iciness of the camphor which is suggestive of Tiger Balm works well on hot dry days, whereas I find Traveller would work exceptionally on cold days.
The initial blast of clove underpinned by frankincense fades away to a warm 'under-glow' of the two notes as the amber gradually emerges. I am certain that many will be concerned by the opening blast of this fragrance, but there is no need to be put off as after twenty minutes the scent settles into a delightful tamed nuance. As for me, I delight in the opening as I love the scent of cloves and it is not frequently encountered in fragrances. The Traveler has indeed returned with a wonderful gift.

| This perfume is another that does not agree with my skin for some reason... On me: CLOVES. did I mention the clove? It smells like cloves. Only cloves. And when it fades, it smells like burnt cloves. Not just burnt cloves... cloves left in a 400 degree oven for 10 years. burnt to an absolute crisp. On my friend: It smells like AMAZING. Amber, frankincense, and cloves are all there almost equally. It's warm and spicy and wonderful! I was soooo jealous, I wish it could have smelled this way on me. As it wears it goes back and forth between being more sweet or more spicy... it's ever changing, but in an oh so pleasant way. She loves it and wants a full size, even though I gave her my sample already Definitely give this one a chance, because if it works for you, it is absolutely wonderful! | |

| I reviewed this a while ago… the clove smell was too overpowering for me. However, I put it in a drawer, and pulled it out again tonight, while I was looking for a scent to take to an upcoming goddess festival. It's the end of summer, the nights are cool, there is a sage candle burning in our fireplace, and this scent is definitely mellowed on me tonight. I am going to bring it along with me…I agree with other reviewers--don't be put off by the strong clove scent at first. Give it a while to mellow, both in a drawer and on your skin. End of summer/beginning of fall seems to be the best time for this scent! | |

| I bought this without trying a sample because I knew I would like it if it is in the same realm as Astral Temple and Seance. It turned out to be my fave of the 3, in fact. I LOVE CLOVES and want to smell like them forever. Mission accomplished. Seance goes slightly Barbasol (shaving cream) on me and Astral Temple has the sweet orange, but this is just straight up mysterious, pretty clove on me. | |
