FARMHOUSE IN SPRING
Daffodil, jasmine, citrus blossom, osmanthus, magnolia, cypress wood smoke, sun-warmed Earth

The first in our seasonal farmhouse series @solsticescents, Farmhouse in Spring captures a humid riot of early to late spring southern florals. Bright daffodils, narcotic citrus blossom (kumquat and orange), lush confederate jasmine and delicate lemony magnolia paired with osmanthus flowers with their fruity scent reminiscent of apricots. This perfume is sunny and warm with a slight fruity nectar and captures a variety of flowers floating on the breeze. Sun-warmed Earth and the gentle slightly sweet and woody aroma of cypress wood smoke from the burn pile of a neighboring tree farm weaves through the base. The light sticky resinous component of the wood smoke has a hint of warmed golden raisins.

This mixed media perfume contains a wide variety of rare and precious floral essences that impart a beautiful, natural and complex realism to the dynamic floral medley.

It will be offered in perfume oil extrait, Eau de Parfum and samples.

This is a perfume that people who don't care for florals may like because of the warm, chewy, sweet/smoky, raisin and resin dry down, where the florals have settled down. This perfume is a morpher and consists of a snap shot of an olfactory experience here at the farm. We had questions about how similar this is to Victorian Picnic, Solstice Magnolia, Flowers Nocturnal and White Feather and this is the response: it is a floral with fruity nuances and a smoky finish. The orange blossom is more apparent in Victorian Picnic and the magnolia is more obvious in Solstice Magnolia. Those two are also very gourmand (flormand). Farmhouse in Spring has a lot of daffodil (narcissus), confederate jasmine (which is not a true jasmine. It's very different from jasmine sambac, which has a lot of indolic and animalic quality. Confederate jasmine comes from southeast Asia (former Malay confederacy) and has a much lighter, sweeter and ethereal scent in the vein of a jasmine grandiflorum. There's also a bit of fruity osmanthus. The Magnolia and orange blossom are lower on the list, but they are there. The dry down has a warm, smoky, raisiny, and slight woody aroma with a pop of warmed Earth and the florals are much lighter at this stage.

I also clarified about the smoke note to another customer with the following: If you don't typically care for florals, definitely sample first. This is not heavily smoky; more like a light smoke for spring. It opens with a blast of florals and you'll have to wait until the heart and dry down phases for the smoke. The florals do settle down a lot after 10 to 15 but they are still there. I didn't want you to be misled about the strength of the smoke. It's warm, chewy, slightly sweet and raisiny in the dry down. A little resinous. Our true smoky perfumes are Smoky Mountain Mallow, Manor Fire, Corvins Smoked Apple (heavily smoky; fall collection) amd Camp Willow (winter collection).

FIRST FLUSH
Blush pink and apricot roses, watermelon, lemon, raspberry, apricot, morning dew, hints of green and wet Earth

First Flush captures the essence of blush pink and pale apricot antique and modern garden roses cloaked in the morning fog. A fruity opening featuring traces of watermelon, raspberry, lemon and apricot quickly gives way to fresh, bright and lush rose petals dotted with dew. A delicate spicy noisette pairs with tea and a soft bit of damp Earth as well as a hint of cut green stems from gathering a rose bouquet while strolling along the rose garden.

Like the first flush of a rosarium in spring, this perfume opens strongly at initial application. It settles to a moderate strength and more intimate experience due to the strong focus on natural materials in this blend. First Flush is a mixed media rose soliflore that contains a variety of precious natural rose essences from around the world, including an exceptional Iranian rose otto.
