TONER and BATH SALT/SOAK CHANGES Empty
PostSubject: TONER and BATH SALT/SOAK CHANGES   TONER and BATH SALT/SOAK CHANGES EmptyTue Sep 24, 2013 4:13 pm

BOTANICAL TONER REFORMULATION: Technically, I'm not planning on changing the actual recipe to the toners, so fear not there.  However, I am going to be changing suppliers for my hydrosols and distillates to a small farm in the southeast that produces primarily organically-grown ones.  In an effort to provide you with the highest quality product possible, I feel that this change will be a very positive one.  The result is a very gentle formula that has a much more pleasing fragrance as well.  Witch hazel still adds that signature peculiar scent but it is much lighter than our current formula. The flower waters are lighter in scent but are great quality. I also feel this product is superior in performance and quality to the other toners you already know and love, so don't worry that your holy grail item is in jeopardy.  Due to this change to higher quality ingredients, there will unfortunately be a price increase.  I've weighed the pros and cons and really feel that the slight increase will be worth the dramatic increase in quality.  We're talking pesticide-free, organically-grown distillates that are also preserved with a natural and very effective preservative (that we're already using) known as Leucidal Liquid.  Your face will thank you!

There will not be a toner restock for a while as we're really involved with the fall restocks and fall release part 2 but I believe the change will take place for the next toner restock.  I will let you know as I'm still finishing my evaluation on this before I go full speed ahead.

DEAD SEA SALT OATMEAL MILK BATH REFORMULATION:  Okay -DON'T FREAK OUT!  This "reformulation" will actually not change the soaks you love much at all.  In fact, the difference is so nominal that I can guarantee your experience with the soaks will not be affected.  Same salts, same scent strength, same water softening and slightly milky/silky water texture and same product texture (dry to slightly spongy depending on oils used) as you're used to.  But after much evaluation and deliberation, we have made the decision to remove the oatmeal and coconut milk.  Again, don't be scared!  These two ingredients are included at such a nominal amount as compared to everything else that the difference is so slight that I am very confident you'll have the same experience with the product in the bath as you always have.  Seriously.  The reason I decided to remove the oatmeal is because time and time again our celiac customers have been left out in the cold from being able to purchase this product.  There are many folks who have gluten sensitivities and I don't feel there is enough oatmeal in here to justify alienating these valued customers any further.  No, I don't want to attempt to use the gluten free oats.  As for the coconut milk powder, it contains casein and is therefore NOT vegan.  We have a lot of vegan customers and again, the amount of coconut milk in this product is so nominal that I'd rather make this product available for our vegan customers as well.  So the result will be a gluten-free and vegan friendly soak that will be called a Dead Sea Salt Milk Bath.  Keeping the "milk" part of the name since the other products in there are really more responsible for the slight "milky/silky" bath than even the actual coconut milk!  I am very confident you're still going to LOVE the salts or I never would have made this decision.  This change does not apply to the upcoming salt restocks for fall part 1.

HOWEVER: the GHOST SALTS formula WILL NOT CHANGE.  The oatmeal and coconut milk will remain in that product for those of you who would like to have those items included in your bath.  Please keep this in mind if you are gluten sensitive and vegan.

So glad to hear you're not changing the toners drastically. They are my holy grail and the only toners that work well for my skin. I think I've got a few at home to hold me over until the later restock.
